Depositor Comments
Because many plasmids that are mobilized to cyanobacteria by RP4 use kanamycin for selection, it is convenient to have RP4 not retain kanamycin-resistance. pRL443 is an RP4-mutant that reverts to kanamycin resistance with a frequency of about 3x10-9, consistent with the lesion being a point mutation (Elhai et al., J Bacteriol 179: 1998-2005, 1997).
