Notes
One of a series of luciferase vectors (ATCC 37574-37584) for assaying promoter activity in mammalian cells. [1] The insert contains bp -223 to +105 of the MMTV promoter with a Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI--6.6; HindIII--6.6; SalI--6.6; matches depositor's DNA. (ATCC staff) This is a derivative of plasmids patented by the University of California and is not to be used for commercial purposes without prior arrangement with the University of California. (personal communication) There is cryptic promoter activity which may be more readily observed with weak promoters. Be careful to do all appropriate controls and map the transcripts. (personal communication) Medium is 1227 LB plus ampicillin. Hosts: E.coli HB101, vertebrate cells, E.coli. (Information source: VectorDB ( http://seq.yeastgenome.org/vectordb ).)
