- Notes
- The deletion of the two 'at'-rich blocks from the E.coli trp promoter resulted in decreased promoter strength. By replacing these 'at'-rich blocks with one or two large 'at'-rich blocks from the major leftward lambda promoter (p-L), modified trp promoters (letI, with one, or letII with two 'at'-rich blocks) were found to be several times more effective than the wild-type trp promoter. The letI promoter can be repressed by the trp repressor and the lambda repressor. A -35-like sequence is located at positions 160-172. NCBI gi: 208769 Hosts: E.coli.
