Gene/Insert

  • Gene/Insert name
    ARS doublet
  • Species
    S. pombe (fission yeast)
  • Insert Size (bp)
    1198
  • Mutation
This vector contains, between AatII sites, a direct repeat of nucleotides 3289-3870 from GenBank sequence Z27236, which corresponds to the sequence published in Zhu, Carlson, Dubey, Sharma and Huberman, Chromosoma 103: 414-422, 1994. This corresponds to a portion of S. pombe's ars3002, a functional chromosomal DNA replication origin. The duplication dramatically increases the replication efficiency of the origin.
  • GenBank ID
    AF531173

Depositor Comments

Thanks to its ARS doublet sequence, this plasmid very efficiently transforms S. pombe cells, and it replicates autonomously in the nuclei of such cells. Although it has a pBluescribe backbone, pDblet contains the SK+ multiple cloning site from pBluescript II.
