- The tyrosinase (mel) gene of S. antibioticus was inserted at a BclI site of pIJ350, a non-conjugative broad host range vector. Tyrosinase is secreted during growth of S. antibioticus but remains intracellular in S. lividans. Inserts at BglII, SphI or SstI sites inactivate the tyrosinase gene. Cloning vector with thiostrepton resistance (tsrR) and tyrosinase production (mel+) markers, for use in Streptomyces lividans. Medium is 1339 R2 YE medium.
